In 2017, Simone began her 30th year as a full time consultant specializing in fund development, strategic planning, and board development. She speaks worldwide, enjoying the opportunity to work with colleagues in places like Mexico City, London, Paris, Italy, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Slovakia… She also teaches in the philanthropy graduate program at Saint Mary’s University, Minnesota, USA. She’s written three books: Keep Your Donors, Strategic Fund Development (now in its 3rd edition), and Firing Lousy Board Members. She’s a former chair of CFRE International and chairs the Advisory Board for the Hartsook Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy at the University of Plymouth, in the U.K. She and her life partner have bequeathed their entire estate to charity. In November 2016, the New York Times called Tom Ahern “one of the country’s most sought-after creators of fund-raising messages.” He specializes in applying the discoveries of psychology and neuroscience to the day-to-day business of attracting and retaining donors. He’s authored five well-received books on that topic, with two more in the pipeline. Often called the ‘guru of case statements’, each year, he trains thousands of fundraisers internationally through conferences and webinars. He himself is an award-winning copywriter and journalist. His recent clients for direct mail, capital campaign case statements, audits and training include Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford, Christian Church Foundation, the Anchorage Museum, Sharp Healthcare (large non-profit hospital system in San Diego), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (US), Oxfam AU, the Gettysburg Foundation, International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, Lollypop Farm, Friends of the Mississippi River, Connecticut Forest and Park Association… and dozens more, large and tiny.

Twice awarded AFP’s Outstanding Fundraising Professional (Calgary and Edmonton chapters), he is an internationally recognized leader in the philanthropic profession – his expertise acknowledged as leading best practice in major gifts and campaign methodology. He currently serves as President and CEO for Global Philanthropic (Canada), and serves as Adjunct Professor for the Masters Program in Fundraising at the University of Bologna, Italy; is a member of the Program Advisory Committee for Carleton University’s Masters’ Program in Philanthropy and Non-Profit Leadership; and Chairs Canada Advancing Philanthropy, a national professional fundraising advocacy group. Guy has written three books, including the Canadian Globe & Mail best-seller, Excellence in Fundraising in Canada. Guy has also served as a member of the International Board for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the CFRE Professional Certification Board.

Bernard serves as the Director of the Management Centre (=mc), a management consultancy working worldwide for ethically driven organisations. His areas of expertise include strategic thinking, change leadership, innovation and organizational transformation. He works with senior teams and boards developing strategic capacity. He works with not-for-profit organisations helping them transform their performance though organizational change. His customers include many leading INGOs – ranging from Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to US Olympics and from World Vision to Greenpeace International. His work has taken him to over 50 countries. Among his recent projects are: creating and the reviewing the global fundraising strategy for the Red Cross & Red Crescent Federation- helping it grow from $30B to $50B; developing strategic plan Doctors without Borders USA to grow to a $350M income almost two years ahead of schedule. Bernard co-authored Breakthrough Thinking for Non-Profit Organisations with Clare Segal. This book was voted Best Non-Profit Book in the USA 2004 – the first time Europeans have won this award. His second book The Influential Fundraiser was published by Wiley and was nominated as one of the top 5 ‘must read’ non-profit books in the New York Times in 2009.
